I have 2 10-gals and 1 20-gal. They all have "appropriate" sized filters on them right now, but I'm thinking of moving the 20-gal filter to one of the tens and then buying another 20-gal for the other 10-gal and a 30-gal for the 20. (Did I lose you on that!? LOL)
Anyway, keeping price in mind as this can't get too expensive or I can't do it, what filter do you suggest?
The ones I have now are HOB Whispers. They do an ok job, but they don't have as great of a water flow as I would like. I'm not opposed to getting that brand, I just want bigger ones.
Thanks!

I always overfilter my tanks. Bigger is almost always better assuming you don't create too much current.

I used to run a HOT magnum on a 29 gallon that had four firemouths, a synodontis Eupterus, 4 syno nigriventis, 2 albino plecs, 4 x-ray tetras, two otocinclus. Yeah I know way way overstocked. They lived in there for three weeks while I built a new stand for my 150gallon. Between the overfiltration, frequent (every other day) water changes, and the tank being heavily planted with water sprite I only lost one of the tetras which got sucked into the filter intake when the inlet strainer fell off.

keep all your filters on the same tank and double them if your twenty gallon has a filter double it buy the same filter and run both same goes for your 10 gallons double them. i do it on all my tanks my 55 gallon has 2 whisper powerfilter 60s on it my 10 gallon has 2 ten gallon whisper filters on it what the manufactur considers appropriate is not enogh filtartion. your system will work like a dream with two filters!
