What filter?

I am in need of an external filter because my Fluval 2 is rubbish for my 20 gallon(uk)So anyways i'm looking for an external filter and i am wondering what make to get.I need to also include that the filter has to be quiet,filter media is cheap and that they are cost effective!I would like anyone who has any experience of the filter they choose to give me some pros and cons of them.

I have tried, over the years, many types of external filter and decided long ago that Eheim make the best. I now use them on all my permenant tanks, the Classic ones, not the Ecco's, those are a cheapened down type and I doubt they would last as long as the Classic or Pro models.

Eheim classic, 2213 would be great for ur tank

The best build quality, silent and half the price of the newer models but just as good

Agreed 100%!

However, if you want to keep things simple and/or costs down, then a simple hanging filter will do a very good job, like an Aquaclear 200.
