I have a 48 gallon tank and i use the eheim 2026 prof II.. great bit of kit. not the cheapest of the eheims or the most expensive range, but its great. Low maintenance, quiet, and my stats have been rock solid since i got it (replaced my juwel internal one).

Big thumbs up from me :good:

go for the eheim. I had a fluval 304 (basically the same as 305) and had nothing but problems with the "self priming" system. It would rarely work properly. I usually ended up having to start the intake goinf by sucking on the tube before connecting to the filter. The priming system on my current eheim 2026 professional II works flawlessly every time

really? i've got nothing but good things to say about my 305, the self priming is great imo, a few little pumps of the lever and away it goes.

i find Fluval to be a lot more "user friendly" than Eheim, having used both i'd say that Fluvals are a lot easier to set up and make for more convenient maintainence.
