I have

1 aqua clear 500

1 emperor 400 bio wheel

1 penguin 170 bio wheel (doesn't have mounts for bio wheel so doesn't have bio wheel)

2 fluval 1 plus (12 gph)

Homade filter (maybe 10-20 gph)

I am not sure what filter should go with what tank.
Tanks are:

65 gallon mbuna tank

30 gallon community tank

10 gallon QT tank

15 gallon tank cycling.

Right now i have

65 gallon - aquaclear 500, penguin 170

10 gallon - 2 fluval 1 plus

15 gallon - homemade DIY

30 gallon - Emperor 400 biowheel

Sorry for the long post but not sure what to do seeing 2 smaller tanks need more filtration.
Hoping not to have to buy another filter cause a few months ago I got the emperor 400.

And all the filters are developped and cycled (15 gallon DIY filter just finishing cycling)

why do the 2 smaller tanks need more filtration?
If one is a quarantine tank then I would put the Fluval in the main tank until it is needed. Then it will be fully established and can go straight into a quarantine tank when required.

If you need to clean the filters more than once a month then you need more filtration. If they are still running after a month then they are probably fine.

It just seems like such low filtration to have like 2 or 3 turnovers of the tank an hour.

a couple of times an hour is usually fine. However, if the PH is alkaline then you want the water filtered faster to prevent damage from the ammonia in the high PH.
