What Does This Mean?

Anytime I write a PM, and then like a minute later I want to go right another one, it says that I cant write until another ten minutes?

I used to be able to write them all the time with no problem, but now it says I have to wait ten minutes between PM.

But, if I reset my Web Browser, it lets me send them again.

The board has now been set to only allow pm's every 10 minutes or so (or whatever the time delay is) because of the recent spate of spamming via PM.

you can thank unsavory characters that join just to post porn spam through our pm system for that.

It's actually set for 3 minute between PMs in an attempt to stop the spammers who have now taken to using the PM system rather than simply posting a thread. A thread gets reported andmoved rather quickly so very few people see it. If they anget out several hundred PMs though, most of those will be seen by someone. If refreshing the browser works though it may not be worth the effort. Will have to do some experimentation.

It appears that they system clock is about 5 minutes fast. Currently it's showing 6:14 and my watch shows 6:09. I know my watch is correct as i just set it with the Naval Clock 2 days ago. That may be part of the reason people are thinking 10 minutes. They send a PM at 6:30 by their clock and the system then tells them they can't send another until 6:39 or 6:40 when in actuallity, by the system clock that's only 3 minutes.

Next time you send one and then try to send another and get the message, look at the time it tells you that you can send the next one and compare it to the time in the lower right corner of the page. There should only be 3 minutes difference in them.
