Just reading up again on my fish and on sexing for my platy it said

Males are smaller and have a gonopodium.

whats a gonopodium? :*)

The gonopodium is the pelvic fins of male fish that have been converted into genital organs.

The gonopodium is the male reproductive organ on live bearing fishes. It's an adaptation of the anal fin (I think, or did I just invent that part right now? lol) and appears as a narrow, slightly pointed fin just in front of the anus. On the females, the anal fin will be round and full.

Heh. Guess I didnt exactly invent the anal fin part, just got it screwed up. Thanks smb for the correct info. lol

Thanks guys. Thats why I haven't had any babies - 2 males and one is hung like a seahorse

Thanks again
