I recently set up an aquarium and found out that there was a population of snails thriving on the aquatic plants I bought from a shop. There were about 10 to 15 of them if I didn't miss out any of them.

Anyway, i decided to rear the snails separately in a fish bowl to prevent overpopulation of the snails and before i knew it, they may gobble up all the leaves of my plants.

I think the snails belong to either the Physidae Family or the Lymnaea peregra family. I will actually think they look more like the Physidae Family.

1. Basically, how do i set up a really really low-budget auquatic environment for the snails?

2. If there are eggs in the bowl, what should I do to make sure that the eggs hatch successfully?

3. On the hindsight, is it possible to determine if the eggs are fertilised?

4. How long do the eggs take to hatch?

5. I read from somewhere that sometimes the eggs do not hatch due to insufficient minerals (calcium) in the water itself. How do I improve the water conditions so that it is optimum for the eggs? What can I add inside the water?

6. How often should I change the water of the bowl?

Lastly, pls give me advice bearing in mind that the snails are from either the Physidae Family or the Lymnaea peregra family.

I need advice badly. :shout: Thank You.
