What do u do to make ur bettas happy

Okay my betta just to be VERY VERY beatifulhis tail just to reach at least 3 inches and it wasnt pointy or nothing but that was only for the first two days. Now hes got a ponted tail BUt VERY VERY short atleast 1 in a half inches long. I think hes bored or something or even sick. I want people in the forum especially HS and BKK to help me. I keep him in a 1 gallon tank I always add salt. I just made a 100% water change.

He is prolly lonely after being around other fish from the store
If i move mine out of view from another they get all sad. so I keep them in a reasonably sunny spot they love it!
A mirror a few times a day wil get him flaring and think he has unwatned company..
Check him out for disease as most LFS bettas will be stressed out somewhat.
bump his temp up a little, if he is not sick, stick a cory in with him, let him have a buddy.

Last week one of my guys was so sad, all moping (hence my avatar) and was sulking on his leaf, i popped him in a breeding net in my community and the bugger erked and was blowing bubbles again in hours! lil bugger!

He is so happy and has been condition, he is in the tank of love now with his girlfriend

Okay if I read that right you said his tail fin got shorter??? Has most of it disappeared? That sounds like fin rot.

Does the edges of his tail fin look red or blackish and ragged? And is it kind of flaking away? If it went from 3 inches long to 1.5 that's not good.

If it is fin rot you need to start medicating right away. Do you have any aquarisol? That stuff works on fin rot instantly. If not I'd use melafix. Take a good look at his tail and tell what it looks like.

yah, i just read the post and i wondered the same thing. i have heard of bored bettas biting their tails as well. 55, check the tail and tell us what the ends look like if you can, from your post did you say the tail was fine for the first two days? is it a new betta?

Well BKK group it was a new betta I checked very good and he donr have fin rot check him out onb the pics of his tail in the Aqaurium section.
