What Do Sheepshead Acara Eat?

I just bought two sheepshead acara from the pet shop today but forgot to ask what they eat. Will they eat the common flake food or do i have to feed them specific food? I heard the better the food you give them the more colourful they become, is that true and therefore what foods?

you can buy cichlid pellets<comes in three sizes small medium large.....haliraki gold is brilliant......also go for cichlid frozen foods/ ddeshelled peas /

They seem to eating the flake food that i put in and also all of my snails that i aint bothered about. Should I just continue feeding them flake food of get them cichlid food?

yea doesnt hurt to feed them flaked but id reccomend buying cichlid pellets because its got everything they need to keep them healthy and perk up there colour

they will eat most foods such as cichlid pelletts, catfish pelletts, plec wafers, flake food, daphnia, bloodworm, cockles, frozen tropical mix blocks, frozen bloodworms, cucumber n sum other vegtables, mix it up for em n give them a varied diet, very good for them
