Just curious I am planning to do the first large water change (100ltrs) just curious as what people use to house the water in whilst the salt is mixing before transfering it to their tank.

Im thinking of getting this:
Slim water butt

This will then also be sufficient for future water changes.

i have never done one that big but maybe you could use 3 horse feeding buckets about 38L each and are cheaper.

I just use old salt buckets, but the water butt will work fine.

Well i did consider that but then i would need to mix up 3 buckets of water which would mean 3 extra heaters and 3 powerheads to move the water around in them.

I use a cheapo clearseal tank fill it with the correct water and salt heat and agitate for 24 hours then syphon out the water from the tank into 25L containers then pump the water from the tank water change tank into the DT usig a cheap pump I have lying around.

Tesco`s also sell a 110 Litre container which could be used if strong enough
