What Do I Put In Hatchery Box?

Hi guys!

My guppy has given birth & i have placed 10 of her fry in a small hatchery box.

Does the box have to be placed at the top of the tank? & is there anything i can put in the box for the fry to hide? as it does look a little boring in there.

The hatchery needs to be at the top of the tank (with the water level about an inch under the top of it) to stop the fry swimming out or the other fish swimming in. I doubt the fry will think it`s boring because there`s nothing in there as they don`t really know anything different, but to make them feel a little bit more secure you could put some java moss to float in the top of the hatchery....something to give them a bit of cover
