Errrrrg! My mom got a 2.5 gallon tank, and I was like "yo, wut yo be doin wif dat bling bling?" And she was like "I'm gonna put a goldfish in it" and I was like "yo, you can't be puttin no goldfish in no 2.5 gallon tank, it don't be workin" And she be like "yes I can, and it goes into my room so you can't do nothin, it will be fine" and I was sayin "I ain't lettin you, it be animal cruelty". However, there not be too much I be able to be doin bout it yo.

So here are a few questions.

-Are there any other fish that can go into a 2.5 gallon that can substitute a goldfish?

I tried every explaination and she don't care.

- What else can be done?!?!?!?!?

Oh dear Have you told her how big a goldfish gets? even the smallest types should get to six inches. explain to her that a fish in that size bowl will get stunted and die and early, painful death.

She could put a pretty betta in that size bowl, no trouble. if you look on the net for some pictures, maybe you could print them out and show her - i'm sure she'd be won over by their lovely colours!

also you could try looking on the net or in books for min. tank sizes for goldfish, to show her.
