Two of my girls have a really thin white string hanging from their stomachs. I have put coppersafe in the water, because one of the girls looks like she has ich. That is supposed to be for parasites, but these have developed since I put the coppersafe in. What are they, and how can I treat them? The one on Ariel is about 1/2 inch long, and the one on Diva is about an inch. I just finished cycling the tank and am getting ready to do a water change.. is there anything else I can do?

silly question but it isnt poo is it...our school fish got fed pasta and they pooed white for days.

ps after being no help at all i have just looked on google and cant find anything. sorry

How long have the "strings" been there?

Diva has had hers for 2 days. I thought it was just something from the plants that got stuuck on her since none of the others had it. But, I noticed Ariel's today.

And of course, now that I'm looking for Ariel's again, I don't see it. :p

I did just try feeding them frozen brine shrimp over the weekend... could the ich and these white strings (whatever they are) be caused by that?

Hm.. Sure it isn't poo?

Well, if it's poo, I've never seen poo like this before... and Diva's is so long... and it's been stuck to her for 2 days!

Doesn't seem like it, it sounds like poo but it's odd it's been there for multiple days. Is there any way you could get a picture and post it?

I can try, but diva's a bit camera shy. I have to go to work right now, but I'll try when I get back.

Alright, hope it works out so that one of us can hopefully help you, and the rest of us can learn something
