Hey There,

Have one male and female platy and one male and three female guppies and am wondering what conditions I need for either of them to breed.

Water Conditions:

NO3 somewhere between 10-25 mg/l
NO2 1 mg/l
GH between 6 and 10 d (Closer to 6)
KH 0d
pH 6.4

I read somewhere a while ago that Platys need a higher pH than 6.4 but haven't been able to find the info again since..

Thanks for any info.

yes livebearers are hardwater fish.they will be much happier with higher ph.what other fish do you have with them.if it is just by themselves then i would add some buffer salt(for livebearer or brackish water)after that then just sit back.htey will breed with little effort coming from you but i would ask that you buy atleast 2 more female platys.hope that helps for now
