Just wondering what colour are they?

I've had bad luck with fungussing and not hatching. Had some more laid but they are all white, is that right?

Hi Seb R :)

Welcome to the forum! :hi:

I just now saw your post. Did your cory eggs hatch this time?

Cory eggs vary in color, usually darkening somewhat as they mature and get ready to hatch. If you have had trouble with fungus attacking your eggs, it is usually for one of two reasons.

The first reason is that there might not be enough water circulation over them. It's a good idea to have an airstone near them to insure this. Some people add Methylene blue to the water too, but I find that this doesn't really make a difference.

The second reason is that all or some of the eggs might be infertile and will never hatch anyway. It's not unusual for some to be this way and remain and fungus after the others hatch. Since cory eggs hatch in about 4 days, it's usually OK to leave them and just clean them off the glass when the hatching is over,

If you post back and let me know how you are going about this, I'll be happy to help you if I can. :D

Hi fufanu360 :)

It's hard to describe white, but if they are white like paper, chances are they will fungus. But the color seems to vary by species, as does the color they become before hatching.

Some just go from off white to beige, which isn't much different, but panda eggs will turn almost black.

I think looking at the solidity of them will tell you more than color. If they age good, they will be soft and delicate when first laid, but will get firmer and harder as they mature. By the second day, any that are soft and squishy are no good and will fungus.

Well no hatch yet nd thanks for the replies :D

I've got 3 that are browny and about 5 that are more 'opaque' (probably fungassed lol). I left some with the parent cories but they have gone (knew they would!)

Well if I can hatch 3 I'll be extatic!

Oh I did use some methlene blue and I have been adding a little bit of rain water, as I think my water amy be a lil acidic.
