I had a quick question, i set up a 10 gallon tank and rightn ow I just put 3 tiger barbs in there, what other fish can i mix with tiger barbs so the barbs wont harass them too much, or should i just get 2 more barbs.
10 gallons is not big enough for TB's
they are schooling fish and need a lot of space to swim in.
also you will find that keeping such a smal number of TB's one will become extreamly aggressive and will kill everything in that tank.
I'll be the first one to admit I made that mistake -- when I was a kid (about 8 years old or so) my parents bought me a 10 gallon tank and I stocked it with various fish, including 2 tiger barbs (cause the LFS said it would be ok!) -- they nipped, harassed, and killed every other fish in the tank. Whoops. Thankfully I've learned a LOT since then (15 years later haha).
Tiger barbs should be in groups of at least 6, preferably more -- that way they kind of stick together and don't bother the other fish as much. And as The-Wolf said, a 10 gallon tank is much too small for that.
Perhaps you could trade them in to your LFS for store credit toward some different fish? There's lots of other great peaceful fish you can keep in a 10 gallon if you can trade them in.
