What Can I Feed My Amano Shrimp?

At the moment, I just feed them the algae in the tank, and lettuce, but is there anything else in the house that i can feed them, as it is difficult for me to get hold of specialist foods

They are not fussy really. Any fish food, algae wafers, frozen bloodworm, boiled green vegetables, etc. Mine like blanched spinach and dandelion leaves. Give them variety of food will ensure they get balanced nutrition and calcium for their shell/exoskeleton as they grow and molt. The important thing to look out for is any copper in the food. They are intolerant to copper.
