My mom says the stuff that fixes, PH, nitrate, ammonia levels But on the thing she has it says removes chlorine and chloramine it says nothing about ammonia and nitrate. Should I just do water changes 20% water changes every other day? And hopefully hope that its making the water ok. The tank is only about 2 months old and I never knew about water changes til like a few days ago. And theres 4 fish in there. Until I can make $10 on my own could Ir fix the water even though I dont know if its bad.

riiiiiight

I have no idea what you're asking.

Are you saying you've had four fish in there for two months and that none of them have died? If so, there probably isn't ammonia or nitrite in your water, so you only need to do a water change once a week.

do you know what the nitrogen cycle is?

Ok, the tankhas been running proably only maybe a 1month and a half. And I never did water changes. My fish has survived I only got them 3 days after I got the tank. And I didnt know I needed to wait for the bacteria, etc. Since my fish dont seem sick or anything. I read about the nitrogen cycle but I havent done any water changes. So the ammonia levels may be high I was just wondering how often should I water change til I can get a testing kit.

If the tank has been running 1 1/2 months and the fish are not sick or dead, you are probably cycled. this means there wont be any ammonia in the water, the bacteria will have eaten it all. do a water change anyway to get rid of nitrates.
