Most all of the Tropical fish forums do feature a section for "Household Pets" and they all have their regular members who specialise in one or more of the common (or not so common) Household pets that people keep for companionship....

In order to make our (TFF's) pet's section unique, we need to provide a service to the members with questions about their particular pet and (from what I've seen), we have some people on this forum who can contribute in a constructive way... (nobody can claim that they are experts in all categories of animals and their behavior)

Below is a list of "specialists", whom I feel can be (and have been) an asset in this department and I invite all of them to call in periodically and give their opinions and answers in topics related to their fields of expertise.

Aly Starh - Rabbits
Chesterscot - Guinea Pigs
Shelby - Dog Training
SeffieUk - Cats and (Talent scout)
Mmanist - horses
~T~ - Reptiles
Tolak - animal Psychologist

(Sorry if your name is not mentioned, but I've taken extracts from the past 2 weeks)

If you are a specialist in any animal related topic, I request your voluntary assistance to help out when I refer questions to your portfolio.....

Calling for names and in what field are you available to assist??

I've kept rats for a good 5 or more years and know more than is healthy about ratty illness - being a vet student, I have more than the average knowledge about these things on top of that.
Also good on rat behaviour as I've personally rescued and re-habilitated quite a number of rats ... and raised a litter of babies from a rescue girl ... owned more rats than I would like to count in all.

I would be happy to (and will) give advice wherever I think I can help on here :)

i think i have a fair hand at acf/adf - i have been keeping them for quite some time

Ahh, thats so cool! :) Hehe, 'rabbit specialist'

I would be more than happy to give advice on rabbits, or any other pet that i have had experience with :)

Well...

Rodents and Reptiles for me :)

Im fairly limited on reptiles to species i have kept but i have pretty good basic knowledge on the more common snakes and lizard species.

Rodents being anything from rats, hamsters, degus, gerbils and mice through to the more exotic like mouse like hamsters, zebra mice, pygmy mice, african doormice, gambian pouched rats and short tailed opossums etc.

I have kept rodents since i was 16 (6 years) and numbers have been in their hundreds at some points! Reptiles only 3 years but also have a diploma in animal care etc...

I also know my livestock and farm animals fairly well, especially alpacas!!

I also work in the pet trade so may be usefull for something!!

Dobermanns are my real love Ludwig, before I went back to work I was the area officer for a National Dobermann Rescue organisation here in the UK.

I have also kept Guinea pigs in the past but would never be able to compete with the knowledge held by Chesterscot :good:

Seffie x

Ah!... two heads are better than one.... All the questions you cannot answer, I'm sure mum will know.... Is there any particular type of dog that you breed?

Wow!!... other forums!!!!... eat your heart out!!... Just look at our CV..... All active specialists and sitting on our Household pets panel, ready to help you out....

Thanks all for volluntering your services.... I know Chesterscot is also equipped with the expertise and knowledge to help out with the bird's section, but since he'll be so busy answering to the "piggey"... (which he put on the map in this forum)... Do we have any bird guys to volunteer? (watch it!!! Feathered!)!
