What are you doing today?

Daughter (18) has called it off with boyfriend to concentrate on revision for her A level exams, so it's Operation Break-Up support (ice cream, coffee shops, Brad Pitt films...)
Glad she has an actual parent that cares enough to support her. Fight the good fight!

I have three weddings to attend in March. One was last week, one is today and one next weekend in Mexico. I thought June was the wedding month. Bought a ping pong ball for my betta today. He likes toys.

What is the Aqua Tera event? I am new to this world.
An AquaTerra event is fair that is focused on the aquaristic and terraristic world. Where we offer supplement, supplies, food, plants and animals (reptiles, amphibians, insects of all kinds and fish).
I don't know what it is either, but I think I want to go. *looks up airline tickets to the Netherlands* *can't comprehend numbers that high*
Just gave an explanation of it. It was a busy day. Made good sales. So, I can't complain for today. The wild livebearer species sold better than expected. But also enough attention for the breeding forms. And a lot of info was given today to interested visitors. I always enjoy being at such an event. I've got a good name at such events which I worked on all by myself (building a good name, I mean). I'm doing this for a reasonable number of years now. I'll post photos of today later on...

Some photos of today's event...

I'm just sort of chilling which can be read as procrastinating about mounting a couple of shelves behind my tank to be able to put the air pumps above the water level which is going to be a bit of a pain. ;)

Got involved with going through some old photos and logos and played a bit in PaintShop Pro doing distortions. I think that I like some. The first two are the original and then the distortion to make abstract. The rest are just finished products. Was also wondering why my cichlids were all in a group staring at me until I looked at my clock and saw I was almost an hour late in feeding.

The original is just a nice shore shot. The second I call Earth Blood with our planet's life being sucked out. Sadly the original is not mine but a shot from a no longer here photographer friend for whom I built a site. I do have permission to use the image as long as not for profit.

And last is a bar trick thing. You have to actually look but there is a spoon and fork joined and a toothpick holding them balanced on the edge of a glass with just the tip of the toothpick touching the edge of the glass. I, of course, know the answer but can any say why this works? And, no, the spoon and fork are not actually resting on the table. They are suspended with nothing touching either the spoon/fork or glass but the toothpick.

Interesting. I have no idea why the spoon/fork thing works. But I always thought it funny that the Cleveland browns have orange helmets.

The name Cleveland Browns has nothing to do with colors. They are named after Paul Brown who founded both the Cleveland Browns and Cincinnati Bengals.

As to the spoon and fork with the toothpick look at the handles of the spoon and fork, They go to the right of the center of the glass making the center of gravity be the edge of the glass. It is all about counter balance.

Oh, I see. That's a really cool trick.

I knew that about the Browns. I still think it's funny, though.
Another cool bar trick is rolling a cigarette into a tight spiral. Try it with just the cigarette and it will break every time. Take the plastic off the cigarette pack and wrap around the cigarette and you can roll it into a really tight spiral without breaking. Not sure about the reason for this, just know that it works.

As to the Browns colors they DO use brown. They also use white (as do most teams) and combinations. Hey, brown and orange go well together. ;)

There are other things about the Browns.
1) They are one of only 6 teams without cheerleaders. There view is that they are there to compete, not put on a 'girlie show'.
2) Only NFL team without a helmet logo.

For years, the Cardinals, and then the Browns were my teams because they always lost. I haven't watched a complete NFL game in, well, forever. But I always had future gambler kids in my classes who were determined I had to love the sport. So I would choose the worst team and present as ferociously loyal to them. Now that I'm retired and I think they've improved, I am officially Brown off.

My yard is nice and brown though. 90% of the snow is gone, and every day in the forecast is above freezing (the nights are still cold).

I am currently at work and trying to fix all the issues that arose from my location not being open on Saturday when I was told it would be open. Most have been finished. Now I just need to get my butt out of my chair and walk the property.

what type of book is it? I would like to see this book.

This would be a great addition to your portfolio and may get you future book illustrating jobs. 👍
Children’s book about a Christmas tree :)
This is going to be the second book I’ll be in, the first is coming out this summer :)
