So my cories have been acting a little weird lately.

I moved them into the 10 gallon as I thought I saw a spot on one of their noses. They were treated for fungus, I talked to my lfs guy and he thought he might have bumped into something and it was just a small injury. Makes sense as it kind of looks like a blister would look.

Anyways, They're usually zooming around the bottom, occasionally darting up, but lately they've been swimming in the middle of the tank and pushing each other around. Pushing down trying to get the other on it's side. I don't know if they are m's f's or one of each.
My water peramiters are fine. Any insights?

so long as the water param's are fine and there is plenty of oxygen in the tank and they are eating well i would worry about it.

They have just been moved to another tank so that will have stressed them abit. Give it another few days and let us know if there is any change.

Thanks. They'd been in that tank a week though by then.
Just thought it was odd behaviour for them.

Cories don't have scales and can't tolerate some types of medications, did you make sure whatever you used was for sensitive fish and more specifically cories?

Hmm, almost sounds like they're spawning. Check out some of the Corydoras videos on youtube and see if they were acting like spawning Corys.

Cheers.

hmm no I didn't check out the medication. but they were done the medication at that point. By a coulple days.

ooh never thought to check out videos. Cool. Is there any way to tell if I have a m/f pair?

Usually, if you look at them from above, the female will be wider and longer than the male, assuming both are full grown. Also, with some species the male get darker when they start to get 'interested'.

correct they dont, but the only thing i am personally aware of that corys do not like too much of is salt. I am not aware of any medication that is generally available that corys are intolerant to.

given that C.concolor generally need very soft water (and here in the UK even RO water) to spawn, i wouldnt say this is entirely the chance. Maybe PA could take a quick pH reading for us and let us know.

Sure I'll do that tonight when I get home from work. ooh how exciting! I will leave them where they are then in this tank. I was going to put them back in their bigger home, but I'll leave them there for a bit.
