Recently I saw some fuzzy looking stuff growing on the glass and some of my plants
Since I've had this happen before in one of my other tanks and someone told me that's freshwater hydra I thought this was them too
However out of curiosity I cut out a tiny piece of valisneria that was covered with that stuff and looked at it with a DIY microscope
Even though it isn't powerful as much as a traditional one it's still really good
And this is what I found

They definitely don't look like freshwater hydra They're missing the tentacles and the "body" is much thinner almost a string like
I don't think these are any kind of bacteria because the microscope isn't that powerful
So what are these ??

They remind me of Stentors. An old fry tank of mine was covered in them.

After looking, they might be something else. I can link you to a Discord server run by Let's Scope it out!. They helped me identify many microorganisms in my tanks previously.

I don't think they are hydras, They are cool tho, looks like party balloons, loll.

This is how hydra looks like.

Looks like a type of Sporangia. A method of reproduction for many simpler plant forms and algae.

Usually like detritus worms when less oxygen in the substrate they show up on the glass walls. Try syphon your substrate next water change.

They are filter feeders like stentors as well. Cool little organisms!

Interesting stuff! I hadn't heard of any except hydra. I always like learning new things even though I don't necessarily want to have mystery "things" in my tanks ;)

All I get is a black 10 second video. What web browser is everyone using to view the footage in post 1?

It's not you browser, It's something in the communication of the site that doesn't go well, many times the download of the media fails or locks up at low % and the video never plays.

I been having the same problem for a good 5-6 month now, and I tried a download manager to try to understand what was going on, and the file download simply quits.

Since I'm in Canada and you are in Australia, it eliminate the bad path problem.

There might be something that is not working well with the media server of the site. And also there's moment the site is completely offline for up to a minute. At this point there's not even a response to a simple ping from fishforums.net

Where the problem occurs is impossible to diagnose, but sometimes I need to retry many times for it work. And my web is working perfectly.

Sometime I give a like to someone and the site freezes for many seconds until it registers. I have this flaky comportment only here.

This is what I get at least 3/4 of the time.
