A friend of mine recently gave up the hobby and gave me his fish, I'mjust trying to I.d them. Is this a tiger barb and a glowlight tetra? If so do i need to get more as they are schooling fish aren't they?

Yes, both should be kept in groups, ideally 6 or more.
