Just noticed these little lumps in my tank. It's got a snail, some cherry shrimp and some red platys.
Is it lurgy?

probably snail eggs, what type of snail do you have?
Post pictures of them.

Yep thats a Nerite Snail, great clean up crew but they lay those tiny white eggs which are near impossible to remove and eventually just harden. In the wild their eggs need to be in slightly brackish water to hatch so in aquariums they can't reproduce which is a benefit vs something like ramshorns or apples.

Ok, well now that I'm here... A couple of cherry shrimp questions. How come now, after months of hiding, all my shrimp have come out to play today??

And also, is this one moulting or dying?

The shrimp have acclimated to your tank water, and are becoming more comfortable as they grow; the one above is showing some unique coloration, I don't believe anything is wrong with it

Hmm, dunno if they have grown, one of them is tiny. And they have been there a long time, months! Could they be new babies?

If you have male and female shrimps they will reproduce. I have red cherry shrimps like yours in their own tank and when I do a water change I always check the bucket for baby shrimps. My record is just over 30 in the bucket during one water change.
So yes, you could well have baby shrimps in the tank.

You can try but they are very hard to get off.
I managed to get most off by scraping them off with a stanley blade. But they ruined a nice piece of driftwood, and as soon as you scrape off all the eggs, she's only going to lay a load more!

Have to admit that I wasn't terribly sad when my female nerite died...
