y snail which probably came in on some live plants. Tetras only in the tank. Each patch of eggs is about 3/8 inch across. The third photo is the stowaway snail, and he is about 1/8" across

I thought nerite snails are practically impossible to breed? Are they perhaps infertile eggs?

truthfully im not sure iv only seen them and i have plenty of other snails and would not like any more i have a friend who has them and they look just like it although you can remove them if you dont want any more but i actually think that with most snails ya just need to add water and it just happens

Nerite snails can and do lay eggs, they just don't hatch in fresh water. But I have to say I have never seen any of my nerites lay round eggs (mine are all oval) nor in such exact formation - mine lay them randomly, even in wiggly lines.

yeah they are infertile but seem to lay many eggs

I used to have this wonderful nerite snail who would lay eggs in beautiful patterns... mosaics and even spirals
