What Are The Temperature Mins For The Following Fish?

White cloud minnows, weather loach and hillstream loach are all sub-tropical fish.
Tropical= 24 degree's or warmer
Sub-tropical= 19-23 degree's
Coldwater=18 degree's or colder.

White cloud mountain minnows are not true coldwater fish, they are sub-tropical so i would not advise anthing colder than 19 degree's- they may be able to survive at colder temps, but they won't thrive at such temps.

Sorry i've never heard of a red capped fish, can you describe its appearance? Is this primarily a wild fish or one often found in petshops/lfs's?

Red capped oranda?

Oh- the redcap oranda is more of a sub-tropical goldfish, anything between 18-23degrees is good for them, here's a short article on keeping them from PFK;

:thumbs: . They can grow to 8inches, but 6-7inches long is a lot more common for ones kept in aquariums. They don't make good pond fish as they cannot tolerate freezing temperatures during the winter and making easy prey for predators in unprotected ponds. However if you are planning on putting them in a pond and your climate is warm enough all year round and the pond is well protected from predators, then they make very good pond fish. But they can easily be kept in aquariums if you have a large enough tank- generally speaking, you need 20gals for the first fancy goldfish/oranda and 10gals for every one after that :good: .

As it says 18 or colder and 10 is colder than 18 then one would assume so.................

So they would be alright in a tank of 10c?

I think weather loaches should be fine in a tank that cold, they can be kept in outdoor ponds so i think a weather loach should be fine in temps 10 degree's cold. Just make sure the tank is larger enough for them though- a tank of at least 3ft length is advised, with a substrate of sand or very fine rounded gravel (sand is better though) and good filtration and plenty of hiding places :good: .
Edit: oh i forgot to add that check the temp of the water of the tank at the shop where the weather loaches come from- if its quite warm you might want to warm your tank first so there isn't a big difference in temperature when you acclimatise the weather loaches to your tank, and then slowly lower the temp of the water in your tank over the following weeks once they are in there and fully acclimatised.
