Loving my neons (had them about 1 1/2 weeks now). I have a group of 8 which are kind of funny. 7 are the same size and the 8th is clearly younger. Usually 7 stay together most of the time and the little one follows behind... I like saying that one has ADD as everything distracts it from the following and it ends up somewhere alone and lost.

Anyhow... 2 of my neons (no way to really know its the same two) have taken to bouts of chasing... lasting maybe 5 seconds then some time passes and they do it again. Why are they doing that?

Maybe males just having a little bit of a chase and display at each other?

Wish I could tell the difference between male and female. I read about it then stared at them but they still looked all the same to me.

a fish with ADD? fish are very curious by nature.

my danios do the "chase" thing a lot too. some fish are just very skitish and its in there nature to stick with the leader, so if he/she swims off the rest will follow rapidly to catch up..

i think anyways....
