Got my 5 apple snails this morning :D

they have settled in nicely
(although they didnt like trying to right themselves on sand)

will snail slime dissolve? otherwise I'm not too sure about the sandy goop :D

I don't know about disolving...slime will break down biologically over time unless there are bad filtration issues. Usually slime shouldn't build up unless the snails are stressed; they produce excess slime in response to a lot of things (unless you breed them like me, then there's slime lying about just from the sheer number of snails lol).

Yeah, it'll dissipate. I have a big Apple, a tiny one, a Ramshorn and several MST's and occasionally there's slime trails but they either dissolve or are eaten fairly quickly.

since the post - i've got over the initial slime trails.

I think it was them getting used to the tanks. they dont leave slimy trails around now :)

i got a new one today too :D
