Hi all...

I posted ages ago about unidentified fry in one of our tanks - ended up ID'd as very very very young pygmy cory... Unfortunatly the fry we saw was never seen again.

This morning I was checking our starlight fry in our Zeb tank and I saw something flitting about agaist the glass underneth the trap.. too big to be the BN fry that escaped (and swimming not sticking) but way too small to be a shrimp or one of the 2 remaining pygmys in the tank...

Flicked the light on to see a 10mm tiny but perfectly formed pygmy :)

It looks like the 2 we had left have spawned un-noticed and the little bugger made it :good:

I didn't manage to get a pic, as soon as i came back with the camera - it had legged it and havent seen it since.
But I'll have one as soon as I can (I'll be there for hours tonight :))

Congratulations. Ive been after some C. Pygmaeus for a long time :good:

congrats on the pygmy spawn.. you will notice that they are one of the faster developing fry out of the corydoras and will spawn regularily without any trigger required.

Congratulations smithrc  hurry up and get some pics so we can see the little beauties.

spent ages looking tonight... but I was rewarded :)

We found 2 small pygmys :D

Here they are (they look like normal pygmys - only really small :)
There are MT snails for size comparison... and the orange lumps are bits of tetra prima (small granula food)

Not sure how it got in the breeding trap ?? but I decided to let them all out into the main tank rather than try and catch the little blighter :D

Thats so cool! Can you tell me about how you went about breeding your cories becuase i am interested in breeding my cories!

Thanks!

I havent been trying to breed them :)

They are in the tank with our zebra plecs so the water is soft (due to RO and tap water mix) and is kept very clean... thats about it really :)

 They are really cute. Congrats on the spawns. Hopefully the parents will spawn again and give you loads of babies. Those eggs must be teeny weeny.

:D
