In my 10G uncycled tank w/now 4 girly bettas in it, I have been checking the water religiously every day for ammonia. Today it had spiked up to .5. I did a 20% water change and checked the water again. It was down to .25.

Did I change out enough water?
And I assume I should check it again tomorrow??

I kinda had a weird situation where I had to move 2 girls from a setup tank and get something else for them, and they were sitting in little tiny containers on top of my entertainment center so I had to get them into the tank.

They all are very healthy, have beautiful fins, are growing like crazy and are FAAAAAT. They eat like hogs. They're so fun to watch.

I'm going to be religiously checking the water until everything's back down to zero.
