For entering the TOTM contest, it doesn't matter if you are at your final goal, what is in important is that you participate in our contests! If you don't win, you can alway improve on your tank and re-enter it in a later TOTM contest to show off your improvements.

More participants make for a more interesting contest. So enter our contests!

If you didnt win a previous totm contest, then you can reenter the same tank in the following totm contest. If you did win a totm, then you must skip 2 totm contests before you can enter a different tank.

How long does one keep the banner for? If forever, might it get to the point where everyone is walking around with one?

The banner stays as long as you are a member. If you win more than one tank of the month contest, we give you a banner that shows that.
There are only 12 TOTM contests a year, so having a banner is pretty unique.
