I wanted to post a quick message to introduce myself to the forum. I've had freshwater tanks on and off for years, and recently got back into it again. This time I'd like to do it the right way though. Right now I have a 10g saltwater tank and a 55g freshwater tank that I just got going. My daughter also has a tank with a turtle, 2 crayfish, and some fish we caught in a local creek. I'm working on budget builds until I "get my feet wet", and then I will go into more costly equipment when needed.

Oh, I decided to check out this forum since it is to be the "Friendliest Fish Forum Around", but I will admit I am shopping around other forums as well until I find one that is a good fit for me.

Have a great day everyone. I hope to learn some great things here.

Welcome!

We are friendly here, but we also speak up when someone is making a mistake or might be endangering their fish. However, I also 'shopped around' other forums and now this is the only forum I regularly post on, so we must be doing something right!

Hope you enjoy it here and don't be shy to get stuck into the discussions.

:hyper: Welcome :hi:

Hi, welcome to tropical fish forums. We hope you enjoy it here and

HAPPY FISH KEEPING!!!

Appreciate the welcome wishes. I was actually told by someone else to check out a forum that is devoted to tanks with plants, but I'm not ready to go that route quite yet. I'd like to add one or two plants just to mess around with the idea, but not sure how to go about it.

PaBucsFan, I'll add some pics of my pitiful tank soon. I have pretty much ZERO pieces for an aquascape yet. I need to go to a local creek for some rocks, but the recent rains here have delayed that a bit. This will be a slow budget build to say the least.

Oh, the reason I switched my 2 month old SW setup to a small tank and moved my daughter's 2 small FW setups to the larger tank was because I just lost my job last week. I would not have been able to afford to continue the large SW tank with what I needed to get, so I moved that to a small 10g tank. In the end I think it was the right choice, as my daughter's other 2 tanks were way overstocked.

:hi:

Looking forward to seeing you around the forum.

James.
