Weired Dog Habbit

my 4 year old female staffy has, since a pup, growled at any other female (human) went near her. any idea why this is? she growls and sometimes may even show her teeth. shes not a vicious dog by all means and is fine with all family members who are with her everyday which includes my mother and grandmother, she is fine with amy stranger who will aroach her and usually makes a huge fuss, licking them etc, but not with any of the girls... any idea why?

During a dogs puppyhood 6 - 18 weeks anything that happens to them is imprinted in there mind. This is there learning stage and everything can have an affect maybe a female did something bad to her, or accidently trod on her then and she's never forgotten it.
Alot of dogs can go either way on liking specific sexes.
