New 29 G tank going about 4 days now. Platies been in since Sunday. All readings normal (ammonia and nitrites at zero and have been from the start). For those who don't know, I transferred 6G of water, decorations, live plants to this tank from a small one, and the fish of course, and have the old bio-wheel sitting in the water flow of the filter on the new one. Trying to minimize/eliminate cycle process.
Anyway, yesterday I woke up to see my 6 platies all sitting on the bottom, not moving (seemingly not breathing! ). But when I turned the light on and put a tiny bit of food in (after getting normal readings on the tests), they jumped to and then were swimming happily as ever.
Then today I woke up and saw all floating at the top, not moving. My three tetras were all towards the bottom, looking up, sort of rocking back and forth (head down, then tail down, then head down).
Turned on light, did same process and all seems well.
Are these bad signs or are my fish just weird B) ?
