Weird Green Thing On My Rock

there's this weird long sharply coloured green thing growing out of my lr and some of them seem to be half calcified. i'm just wondering what this is.

here's a picture, though it's a little fuzzy because i used my crappy iphone camera. there's 2 in the center of the picture you can't miss it lol.

Hi, I believe it's Neomeris annulata (Harmless, calcium loving macroalgae) ;)

Wow, that stuff looks great! I've ordered some Halimeda algae which should be here soon. I really like that Neomeris though!!
 
oh thats good to know! i was kinda worried about having those in my tank as well! btw that picture looks an awful lot like my tank :blink:

since it looks pretty nice, and its harmless. i was wondering how do u get it to "make more" like the picture attached with TetraUK's post. everytime i get those macroalgae, they .. calcify? from bottom to top.. is this normal or is there something wrong?
 
That is a nice plant, but I don't look anything like it.
 
I had that once!! It was cool and spread quite quick. Then it all died one day!!
