weird disappearance

Few days ago one of my red clawed crab went missing. Few days later the other one went missing too. I thought they climbed out so I figured that I wouldn't get them ever again in the future.

This morning I noticed that my filter stopped working. This was evident because all the fish were near the surface breathing heavily. I found both of my red clawed crab in the filter alive and well! How they got inside the filter is beyond me since it has a bio wheel to prevent entry and the intake tube was impossible.

Mine did that before.

He climbs to the highest peice of driftwood and then swims over to the filter tube and climbs up. I had to rig up some tin foil above the water level to keep him in.

WHen it died, i didn't want to get another one. They are cool and all, but all they do is try to get out of the water
