Last night, Red decided, it was his time to leave us all. Heres what happened...

My sister(23) was cleaning out his tank last night and had left him, in the cleaning bowl, in the bathroom. Now, she does this because she said it takes 24 hours for teh water to reach room temperature, I thought it only took an hour or so, but anyways, while at night, he was swimming around freely and decided to take teh deadly plunge into the sink. There was about an inch of water in there, but it wsn't enough. When my mother went in at night to check everything, she heard a flopping sound and then screamed. My dad came and picked Red up and placed him in his tank. I think he must have dried out, we don't know. I feel horrible though, because if I was home, I could have treated him and kept him longer! :( Jeez....

R.I.P Beautiful Red, I loved your gorgeous flowing tail, and your very big appetite, you were a joy to have around. And even though Melissa has decided to not get another betta, I'm sure you will send her someone special, please...:(

Was the water in the sink just tap water? If so, it was probably the chlorine. :(

So sorry to hear about your loss. :rip:

No, it was water from his tank, but the drain was closed. The tap wasn't even running...we use fresh spring water for our bettas... :(

Thanks for your support everybody. Even if you lose a betta, you still lose a very big part of you... :byebye:
