It came down the chimney tonight and it has taken me over an hour to get it out of the house

Aaaaw How cute is that? How big was it? That is too cute. We have a few around here and they are tiny. We have a huge abandoned house next door and they live there.

It probably had a wing span of about 7" at a guess.Ours is an old house and we have a colony of them live in the loft so we do get them coming down on the odd occasion

Oh man, you're so lucky! I LOVE bats
They've been my favourite animal since 4th grade. When I move a month from now I'll be only a few minutes drive away from the world's largest urban bat colony, and you can bet I'll be driving down to watch them come out from under their bridge often

Uk's most common bat is the common pipistrelle - they are very small bats. this was the sort that fell down my chimney when I was about 18 - it was an amazing experience, when I got it into the box you could hear it beeping very interesting little creatures - with an obvious penchant for chimneys

Wow thats a great pic! I love bats just dont seem to see as many flying about nowadays! So far this year I've only seen about 2

It was just sheer luck
it was flying round and round the room and i had to judge when to click the camera for those couple of seconds delay before the digital camera actually takes the pic
