Ripley
Fishaholic
Hi everyone!
I've just recently admitted I'm kind of a forum freak... This is my third fish forum, and I'm also in four equine forums too. I may not post a lot, mostly because I don't feel I have all the answers, but I will share my experiences.
As for now, a teeny bit of history.
We had fish when I was little, and I used to love going to the store to pick out new ones (though, being like under 10, I had no idea what went well with what... Good thing my dad had a pretty good idea). Well, he got tired of the maintenance on the tank, and finally just shut it down. So, we went for probably another ten years without fish, until I decided I wanted to rescue a betta from a tiny cup. So, last October I started on my own fishie journey. Being a rookie, I made my share of stupid mistakes. The biggest one was not finding these forums in time! Let me tell you, nitrate levels really spike in a tank with a betta, two dwarf gouramis, and about six mollies... Yeah, definitely not my best plan. But, I got through all that only to buy a paradise fish... Who beat the snot out of the dwarf gourami's (yep, another verrrry bad plan). My trainer's son had recently lost one of his bettas, and I said he could take my paradise if he wanted, and he did. So that little fish is happily swimming around in his own 10 gallon tank. Almost right after that, I went and bought a new betta and had the two in the 10 gallon with a divider. But, I'd already become addicted and was planning to set up my dad's 33 gallon again. So, I did. So far, I've done everything right, and not one of my pretty fish has ended up being flushed.
So, on to the more important stuff - my stocking list!
10 Gallon
- 1 Betta (Flik)
33 Gallon
- 5 Platies
- 4 Guppies
- 3 Bolivian Rams
- 1 Betta (Ripley - my namesake!)
I'll go make another post with all my pictures in it under the Pictures section.
I look forward to joining in, sharing pictures, and getting good advice from you guys!
