Wattage

Hi
Can anybody tell me how to figure out wattage for plants. I have a 40swimming gal tank with two 18 watt tudes thanks for any information.

rough guide high tech 3 watts per gallon.
low tech what ever you want really, some plants like anubias and crypts will do well in a low tech low light tank.

youv got 0.45wpg its a low tech,low light tank. as tribalbrit said crypts and anubias will do well java fern and java moss will also do well
