How do you guys with baby shrimps do it?

My shrimpy tank is due a wc, but i have 100s of babas swimming around, and i dont wanna chuck any down the plug hole lol.

ty :good:

If you wiggle the tube round it tends to scare the shrimp out of the way.

Keep a close eye and if you see any being sucked up the tube pull it out the water and they should drop down into the tank again.

I don't think i've poured any down the toilet yet.

only problem is, my current is really strong and they like to go with the flow, so to speak.

Oh wait... i could just turn the filter off. idiot lol

Where did they come from  ??

I have the same problem doing water changes (not that I have 100s of babies though  ). I tie a fish net at the end going into the bucket and catch all the debris. Then I tip the stuff into a transparent container so that I can pipette out the babies. Not easy but luckily not that many babies get sucked up

thanks for that, i'll give it a try :D

I take water from the top but I never see my babies until they are a little bigger. Could I be syphing them out? I thought they would hide near the bottom when they are born.

Cherry babies in the first few days are very hard to see, the crs and bumblebees are easier to see and I dont think I have dumped any of them. I was fishing out some daphnia from my little pond its usually where I throw the shrimp water and what did I catch but a berried cherry, I have since caught a few more. She must have got dumped in there over a year ago. Such tough little critters. Anyway back to the point I usually stir up the dirt a bit and take the water out from the middle of the tank. The net over the siphon sounds like a good idea.
