2 quickies:

1. Would running tap water through a Britta be helpful?

2. If my lfs is agreeable (haven't asked yet) :alien: but would getting bottles of water from my lfs be a good idea? It is in the same area, so the PH, water hardness/softness would be the same I assume, but obviously there water is established???

Question 1) Any kind of filtration is helpful.

Q2) Interesting question. I have heard of this being done. I also know many people the won't let the lfs water that transported their fish home anywhere near their aquariums water.

Is there any other bottled water alternatives in the UK?
Spring water, distilled, reverse osmosis? Any of these usually are available in 1 to 5 gallon sizes. A little pre testing before use would be wise however.

:? 1. Why and what's a Britta?
2. Established ?? what do you mean by this? If your lfs is in the same area it will be the same water. They may run it through a purifier or use R.O. water. :) Mac.

Mac a "Britta" is a filter jug that posh people who are too good to drink water straight from the tap use to filter out chlorine etc

It uses activated carbon i believe lol

And yes i have one ROTFLMAO :p :hehe:  :hehe: 8)
