When i set my new tank up wat treatments will i need??

This sounds horrible but when i had my last tank that i had for at least ten years i never but any thing in the tank unless i had snails or white spot.

As i am going to be spending more time on my hobbies i want to do it right but i do not want to spend out on things that i do not need.

I'd say just get some water treatment agent to neutralise chlorine/chloramine/heavy metals.
You'd also do well to get a water test kit. You could get sail killer to treat plants with before adding them to your tank.
To my mind, its better not to get disease treatments and medications until you need them as otherwise would be very tempting to give them a go at the first sign of trouble without making a proper diagnosis of whats wrong - if you notice non specific ill health, usually better to change part of the water and monitor things rather than add a chemical.
This assumes you can access a decent shop to buy these things if you've an emergency, without waiting a week or whatever.
