water sprite and bettas?

I've got two screw in CF full spectrum lights, these ones replacing the incandescents on the 10 gallon. I also use the Hagen Nutrafin CO2, and the stuff grows like a weed. I have to trim every week.

I have watersprite in my growout tanks, they do require more light then say Java Moss, but not alot of light. My biggest piece of water sprite is in my 45 gallon tank (floating on the top) with a 25W aquaglo light, and it's doing fine. My other piece is in a 20 gallon tank (also floating on top) with a 15W aquaglo light.

A while back I tried keeping small pieces in my individual Betta tanks without a light above them and they didn't do well at all and I finally tossed them, so they do require some sort of lighting, but it doesn't need to be alot.

Hope that helps :)

Have to agree with shrks, I have tried putting pieces of watersprite into my minibow tanks with the small light they have, and it didn't do well. However I have been putting pieces into my 10 gallon which is cycling, and only has basic incandescents, and they are not dying, but not thriving either.
Hygro is doing ok though.
