Im curious with the water changes... How do you prep your water for the change?

I read one person uses the python to drain and fill from the faucet then dumps in the dechlorinator in the tank.

I was thinking of setting up a tub with a power head maybe a bubbler and heater to ready the water a few days prior to the change.

How do you do it?

It really depends on what your water has in it. Doing that will remove the chlorine but nothing else. If the water has chloramine which most water companies also add, that will remain and needs to be neutralized by adding a dechlorinator. Most water also has metals and impurities win it which the dechlorinator also binds to preent problems. Of course, if you have well water, the chlorine/chloramine isn't a problem.

I use Tetra Aquasafe 5ml to 10liters tap water never had any complaints fron the fish and it contains some vitamins for their benifit. I try to let it rest for 5-10 minutes after filling the buckets to give it time to work.

I use Aquarium Pharmaceuticals Stress Coat. From what I have read on this forum and another I occasionally go to, that is probably te most popular one on the market. As long as it removes both chlorine and chloramine, it should be fine but beware of any that say they neutralize ammonia as those may have an effect on your bacteria colony.
