have i got the right fish for the water or should i maybe go for mbuna
its a 200ltr

Hiya. Your parameters are fine! ph 7 is also ok, anywhere between 6.5 to 7.5 ok for most fish. If you buy your fish locally they will be used to the ph anyway. Fish are mostly quite adaptable. Mbuna cichlids need hard water ie 7.5 to 8.5 and in that size tank only go for dwarfs. How long has the tank been set up?

Your parameters look a little too good, do you use RO water? Reason I ask is that your NitrAtes are 0, my tap water is 40ppm. Is it well planted as this could lower them, but 0 is very good even with lots of plants.

A stable PH is more important than the perfect PH if you get my meaning (for most popular fish anyway). If the cardinals are fine (colourful and active), then the rams should be, what rams were you after by the way? Bolivians are fine in that PH whereas the blues 'perfect' PH is lower 6.5-7, but then so is the cardinals.

The most common misinterpretation when it comes to info on the internet is the mix up of 'the perameters of the natural biotope' vs 'the perameters the fish needs to survive'. In most cases these are very different numbers. The Rams will do absolutely fine in your water. The only caution is if you wanted to breed them - the hard water could cause problems with the hatching of the eggs.
