Water cleaning

Hi, you prepare some water by putting in some dechlorinator. It must obviously be the same amount of water that you are going to remove. Then you use a syphon to suck the water out of the tank and at the same time you clean the substrate by running the syphon device over it.I have gravel, I expect you would have to be careful with sand as it is finer. Make sure the new water is the same temperature as the existing tank water or you will shock your fish, perhaps fatally. Also before you start turn all electrics off and unplug. Get everything ready and your filter need not be off for too long. Then carefully put in your new water, I use a jug and try not to make too much movement with the water. Hope that helps. I am not sure if this is a wind-up (no offence) as no-one else has gone into detail!!

and that means???

btw, if there is someone around to help you out with this, that person could use like a plate above the water surface so that when putting water back to the tank (if you don't have a syphon) you won't move too much ornaments, gravel or even scare the fish.

If possible, remember to have a towel at hand, exclusively for the fish.
