Water Changes

Depends on the size of tank, stocking levels and your livestock. As this is in the nano section I assume the tank is under 30g. In which case I would say you need to do a 20% water change at least every 2 weeks (once a week would be better).

I keep two nanos and I do a water change EVERY WEEK as nano system's water quality is disturbed VERY fast. I have also found that doing 10% every week as compared to 20% every 2 weeks keeps the water significantly cleaner in turns of reduced micronutrients and DOCs (dissolved organic compounds). Generally skimmers are not necessary for nanos which means that DOCs are only removed when you do a water change.

Hope this helps

Sometimes the amount of water changed can be a little over the top...... but saying that I am sure it is better than not enough!!
