Water Changes

depends on the amount of fish and water ...

whats the size of the tank and how many occupants in there..

I am assuming that as you are posting in the nano section you have a tank under 30 gallons - I am also assuming you do not have a pico (as they require bigger more frequent water changes) so, 20% each week (as long as you are correctly stocked), should keep your tank going nicely :good:

We would love to know a little more about your tank etc

More often than I catually do!

Water changes are extremely important on small systems. The lower water volume makes a nano tank extremely susceptible to small insults. The changes not only remove contaminants, such as nitrates, but also replenish/b] losses. Eg, in a mature tank, everyone loves the beautiful pinks, purples and greens of coralline algae. Well, those animals along with your corals can deplete the calcium and iodine in the system. Regular frequent water changes replace this and obviate the need to unnecessary expensive supplements like strontium, Purple Up, etc.

Good ol' SH........ so just to reiterate water changes are good and necessary. 10% weekly is the minimum.
