Hi,

Up until now I've held a 5 gallon bucket full of replacement water on my shoulders whilst my better half uses a simple hand pump to syphon the new water into the tank - there has to be an easier, lighter way!

I've thought of using a simple pump but am unsure which ones could pump the water from the bottom of the bucket up 1.5 Metres (4 Foot) into the top of the tank.

How does everyone else get new water into there tanks?

Cheers.

Sorry, but this did make me laugh

Simple pump will do the job or even a saucepan if you only have a nano - sorry still smiling at the image of you two  you with a bucket on your shoulder and Mrs/mr westie standing on a chair pumping madly

I usually do either a 10 or 20 gallon water change using my 10 gallon water change tank. That way, I have somewhere to mix the salt in with the water and put heaters in. Then to get it in the tank, I just put my return pump from the sump in it and when the water level gets too low in the tank for the pump to get up any more, I just bail the rest into the sump with a jug. That way, you can just sit back and watch it fill its self up.

An all glass ten gallon tank will only set you back a maxium of £20 :good:
